About Our Team
Monica
Monica is from Palatka, Florida and she graduated from Middleburg High School. She attended Florida State University where she became interested in the dental field. In 1996, Monica enrolled in the dental assisting program and earned certification by the Dental Assisting National Board. After three years, Monica then became interested in dental hygiene, and she subsequently enrolled in the Florida Community College of Jacksonville Dental Hygiene program where she obtained an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene and has since earned a Bachelors of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from St. Petersburg College. Monicas dedication to her profession and sense of responsibility to optimal patient care has driven her to continue her education further and she is currently pursuing a Masters and a Doctorate of Health Science at Nova Southeastern University.
Monica is involved with several different aspects of Jacksonville Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. Monica is the Dental Hygiene Coordinator, has headed the Dental Implant Coordinator role for the past five years, is the Clinical Coordinator for the Institute for Guided Implant Surgery. In addition to her clinical roles, she also has the important role of Conscious Sedation Care Coordinator while maintaining both Basic Life Support certificate and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificates.
Monica has strong family values and enjoys spending her free time with her husband Michael and three beautiful children. In addition to her family, Monica explains that Jacksonville Periodontics & Implant Dentistry is an integral part of her life. Her warm, gentle, and compassionate personality is seen by all of our patients. Monica enjoys the clinical practice of hygiene, and she feels that improving oral health improves overall well-being.
